10 Favorite Things:
Favorite swimsuit bottoms– I found a pair of black swimsuit bottoms last year that I love so much! I wanted to post them last year, but I ask you- how does one do a post about a black swimsuit bottom without donning a black swimsuit bottom and posting it on the internet? Ha! Anyway, these swimsuit bottoms aren’t too skimpy, they cover my butt, and they don’t dig into my skin! Now you know why I love them so much. These black swimsuit bottoms have opened up a whole new world for me! You may ask why??? Well…
Statement swimsuit top- It’s much easier for me to find one part to a swimsuit than it is to find an entire swimsuit. The top may fit but the bottom doesn’t, and the bottom fits but the top doesn’t. Since I found this black swimsuit bottom, I have so many more swimsuit options. My new favorite swimsuit top is is a gigantic ruffle. Instead of going out and buying a new swimsuit this season, I decided to spend my money on one big statement bikini top (steal version here). So far, it’s worked out very well for me. I wore it on a beach vacation with my husband, and I received so many compliments! I also bought a cute top from Old Navy. I could even look for a really cute tank or rash guard for a one-piece option!
Sarong– Speaking of these statement bikini tops, it can be difficult to find a cover up that works with all the different options out there. That’s why I’m back in love with sarongs! You can tie them around your waist as a skirt or tie it behind your neck as dress. You can find them in varying colors to match your swimsuits. Plus, if you end up going to a nice place for lunch or dinner while still in your swimsuit, bring a white linen shirt to tuck into your sarong for a very chic look. I plan to do this a lot this summer when we go to the beach!
Animal print– Animal print on swim wear, cover ups, dresses, and tank tops! Animal print is making a big wave in spring/summer apparel, and I love it! I was working with a client recently, and I realized one really great way to update your white jean outfits is to pair them with animal print. And after thinking about it, now I know why! I just bought this tee and this swimsuit top.
Bandana– I’m always looking for ways to update my look for a season without buying a whole bunch of new clothes, which is why I’m loving bandanas/small scarves. You can wear it as a necklace with your jeans and t-shirt look, or tie it on your purse or wrist. And the new way I can’t wait to try it is to put it in my hair, like the headbands that are so popular right now. I could even see tying it around my bun.
Madewell necklace set– Our necks don’t have to be covered, so lets celebrate! Ha! So many necklines in spring/summer outfits allow us to have fun with necklaces! I love a layered necklace, and I love a single, little necklace. This layered necklace from Madewell is great because it does the layered look for you. You can also wear any of the necklaces alone. Sometimes, I just wear the small little circle, and then sometimes for a bigger statement, I wear the larger circle. But the best part is that each necklace is adjustable, so you can wear them at whatever length looks best with your outfit/neckline.
Grey denim- Grey denim is the quickest way to give a new life to your tops from previous years. Tired of wearing that top with your favorite white or blue jeans? Try pairing it with grey. It changes the whole look! Here are my new favorite pair of grey jeans and shorts:
Soludos Platform Smoking Slipper– I feel like Soludos are the perfect shoe for spring. You know how you’re wearing outfits that are teetering somewhere between summer and fall, and it’s a little aggressive to wear flip-flops because it’s still a bit chilly in the morning or at night? That’s why Soludos are so perfect! They also make a great shoe option if you haven’t had time to paint your toenails. Plus, they are perfect for traveling- your toes are covered, and they’re easy to slide on and off. I personally like the smoking slipper version because it gives you an inch of height and feels a bit sturdier than the other options. I also really like the give of the suede ones.
YSL Babydoll Kiss and Blush– I have the hardest time getting my blush to stay on. Especially in the summer. Plus, I like my blush to look like it’s a natural tint to my cheeks. This is why I love this creamy stain that is meant for both cheeks and lips. I can carry just this bottle in my purse, and I can do a make up refresh in seconds!
Revlon 1 Step Hair Dryer– I’ve never been stopped, messaged, texted so much about a product I’ve recommended! No wonder three of my friends kept telling me about. It’s hands down the most popular product on C. Style this year. I blow dry my hair until it’s at the stage where it’s almost dry and a frizzy mess, then I pass this dryer through for the last few minutes as you would with a round brush, and viola! It looks like I payed for a blow out!
Bonus: Favorite Strapless Bra– Tis the season for strapless bras! (I just grumbled as I wrote that line- hahaha!) While I grumble just at the thought of wearing a strapless bra, I have to admit that after finding out about this bra, all those cute off the shoulder tops and dresses are a little more bearable! It’s the most comfortable and supportive strapless bra I’ve ever owned.
