One of my summer epiphanies was that I needed to see more art (post here), and when I read about the Funnel Tunnel I had to go. The Funnel Tunnel is a public art installation by Patrick Renner, commissioned by Art League Houston. I thought it was the perfect opportunity to take pictures, so I grabbed my sister and we headed to Montrose.
I’ve had this neon shirt since the beginning of the summer. For some reason I’ve had the hardest time pairing it with something. Every time I put it on the neon would scream at me… maybe it’s because I grew up in the 80’s. But, for some reason, when I put it on with my cargo pants, it toned the neon down.
Why didn’t I figure this out earlier? I also realized I could pair my camo pants (here) with neon, too! Well, you may have been doing this all summer, but just in case you find yourself in the same predicament, I thought I’d do a post on it. Plus, I wanted to show you guys the cool art installation!

Thanks for coming with me and taking pictures Erica (AKA, TITYN)!
The neon looks great with those cargo pants! And you look great in the pants! Still keeping my fingers crossed that we get to actually meet in real life soon!
Have you seen two more beautiful sisters????
Thank you, Laura.
Great post! I love this idea. Thank you for taking me to the Funnel Tunnel!
I have that shirt too! It is a very awkward one to pair something with. I really felt “too out there” even with jeans. Thanks for the tip!!
Kasie! I’m so glad to hear I’m in good company and I’m not crazy -ha!
