Reinvent It

I’ve had my eye on this skirt from Anthropologie for quite some time. I tried to get my sister to buy it for a wedding and I was racking my brain for an upcoming event that would justify my buying it (cpw post here). What can I say, I take my purchases seriously. Anyway, I ended up having a few events that were dressy (not cocktail) and guess whhhhat?!?!? The skirt was perfect.

Here I am after one of the events. Sorry for the terrible picture quality. Ideally I’d like to take pictures before I leave for the night, when there is good light, but that just never happens. That night, one of my close friends complimented me on my skirt, and (as I do) I started telling her about how I had been eyeing the skirt for awhile but couldn’t justify buying it, yata yata yata. Then she said, “Carly, you could totally wear this with a black tank and cute black sandals when you have friends over or go on a date”.

YES!!! Why didn’t I think of that?!?! Well, I had a girl date with my sister to the movies and that was good enough for me! So, what do you have hanging in your closet that you LOVE, but you bought for something dressy or a specific event? Maybe it’s a sequin top, a fancy skirt, or a really pretty silk top. Whatever it is, grab it, reinvent it, wear it. Because you know you love it!

Love the peplum ruffle that goes all the way around the back of this skirt!

The Limited moto jacket was the perfect jacket to wear to the movies to keep warm! I see this jacket being used frequently.
