Camisole Happy

I have to tell you a hilarious story, but don’t worry there is a fashion tip at the bottom of the post -ha! I was meeting a girlfriend for lunch, and as I was waiting for her, I ran into another girlfriend. She complemented my jeans and shirt and was surprised when I told her the top was from Old Navy. I asked if she thought it was post worthy and she replied with an emphatic yes! I then jokingly asked if she wanted to take some pictures and she said, ” YES! I’m a really good photographer.” (I love that she said that btw, owning something you’re good at and not being afraid to say it makes me freaking happy). And so here are our pics! Brooke, they’re amazing! Thank you for the fun photo shoot!

I’m still loving my Transport Tote! It can hold everything! In this picture I have my DSLR camera in there, but so much for that since I left the memory card at home -ha! I often carry both my laptop and my camera in it. Now, that’s a good sized tote!

These days I’m really digging wearing one or two bracelets on the same wrist as my watch, or the opposite side, like yesterday. I keep mixing it up for fun! I’m especially loving my new
Sarah Briggs for Jewelry Nut Auctions Deco Cuff. A special thanks to JNA and Sarah. Sarah, thank you for the thoughtful note.

While looking through these pictures did you think to yourself, “Oh goodness! I see her boob/bra!”. Well, hopefully your answer is no -ha! Here’s my tip: I feel like we can all get a little camisole happy, me included. But recently, out of necessity (it’s so stinkin’ hot), I’ve started to go without a camisole more times than not. The exception being if I am in a professional setting, or I absolutely need one, like if a boob or bra is showing -ha! But truth be told, I’m getting a little liberal on the bra part. If you can’t see the detail of it or it doesn’t completely distract from the outfit, I’m going without a camisole. I’ve had this “camisole happy” conversation with a couple of friends, and it seems I’m not the only one feeling a bit more liberal these days… Won’t you join us in feeling a little more cool? No pun intended -ha!

I hate wearing a cami in the hot summer! I just wish there were more white tops that weren’t so sheer. Have any good suggestions? Love your blog and your style! You are my “go to” stylist blog! Debbie

Nice outfit, I like the simplicity. I have the same tote and love it. It’s my go to for carrying it all.

It’s very hot here in California, too. I’m not at all pleased with all the sheer tops out there. There’s no way I’m going to wear two layers.

I always wear a smooth, nude-colored bra under white shirts. I rarely wear camisoles because I can’t find any that fit me nicely and yet flare out enough to accommodate my hips and tuck into my bottom layer. I’m pretty successful at staying cool in the summer when I wear cotton skirts and dresses with sleeveless tops or tanks.

Love the outfit. I finally broke down and ordered the K.Jacques Gina sandals. The jeans are next. ; )
