The Perfect Gift for the Ladies in Your Life (All of Them)

One of the things I’ve learned while helping women in their closets is that the majority of us have a section of old comfy sweaters. You know, the ones you wear over your pajamas to keep warm in your house or throw on to get the mail, answer the door, drive carpool or run through a Starbucks drive thru. I call it the “house sweater section” of the closet, although it’s not always saved for just the house. Let me just say, it relieved me to know that I wasn’t the only one with a “house sweater section”, and it also somehow made me feel bonded to womenkind. We ALL love to be comfy, and this is how I found the perfect gift for you to give the special ladies in your life!  

I have two house sweaters- one from Old Navy and one from the Gap. They are tired, old and pilling. I needed a new one, but oddly, I had to be convinced. While shopping with my aunt recently, we ran across the sweaters by Barefoot Dreams. We touched them and immediately started to ooo and ahhh. They were even softer than my son’s lovey! But, it was more than I had paid for my previous sweaters. In a very brief conversation, my aunt talked some sense into me. She reminded me that…

I loved how the one above drapes in the front, because I felt like I could wrap myself in it like a blanket. If I had a tank top on under, I could just cover myself. My son loves to wrap himself up in one of the sides while I read to him at night. In fact, he asked me for a sweater like mine for Christmas. I even heard him asking his Elf! I think I’ll get him the marine and white stripe throw, so he can have it in his room for many years to come! 

But then I realized that I wanted one with pockets, because I like to have somewhere to put my phone and a tissue (I sound old, but it’s true). What I liked about this one is that it was long enough to cover me like a robe if I wore a nightgown, and I liked that I could button up the front! This one is super plush, even more so than the first one.

And then the practical side of me kicked in. The hoody makes sense, because I can easily disguise my sleep tank top by zipping it up! I just zip it up and I’m covered! Plus, this one has pockets, too!
