If you were a little disappointed by the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale Catalog (I was), rest assured because The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale did not disappoint! Just look at the mess we made! I’m pretty sure the sales associates were a little overwhelmed by us… #oopsie. I tried to be really nice. In fact, I’m feeling a little overwhelmed with how much good stuff was out there and how much stuff I came home with. Yikes. Ha! Like in the past, I had a plan to stick to staples when shopping The #NSale. Otherwise, I can get myself in trouble. Well, obviously shoes are a wardrobe staple, and they tend to sell out the fastest. That’s why the girls and I (and everyone else-ha!) made a bee-line straight to the shoe “tent”! And can you believe some of them are already sold out?!?!
I was the most excited to try on the Pedro Garcia’s that are being featured in the #NSale. If you’ve ever had a pair of Pedro’s, you know why… In general, It’s hard for me to spend a lot of money on shoes but not on these. They make sense, because they are so comfortable. I’m serious.
Pedro Garcia–Â Here’s the first pair of Pedro’s I tried on. I loved them and so did my friend (she bought them)! I love the black ankle strap. It adds a chic edge. When you’re spending that much money on a pair of shoes, you want to be able to wear them with a variety of bottoms (like jeans and skirts), so I had my friend roll down her pants to make sure they looked good. And they did! In fact, I liked it even better than how the shoes look with the jeans rolled. And the ankle strap was surprisingly sliming on the ankle. Maybe it’s because you can adjust them with the velcro. My friend went up half a size.
Then there was this pair of Pedro’s! When I opened the box, I literally gasped and said, “I have to have these”. I can’t believe I just admited that, because that’s really embarrassing. What can I say, last year I didn’t buy the Pedro wedges, and I regretted it all season. By golly, it wasn’t going to happen to me this year. I can’t wait to wear them with my flare jeans, skinny jeans and my sundresses! And they are so comfortable, I may even wear them beyond date night -ha! These ran true to size.
(left to right) Pedro Garcia (splurge) and Hinge (steal)
If you are like my friend and the Pedro’s are a little too tall, not to worry, because my friend found us a great steal version that’s a little less tall (Thanks LS!)!
How cute are these Hinge sandals?!?! And the price!! You really can’t beat the price! You could wear these in the fall and summer, because they are a suede sandal… genius!!!
HInge– Guess what color is everywhere for the fall?!?! Yup, burgundy! My fashion brain said, “I want to participate in this trend”, and my practical brain said, “no, they’re not very versatile”. But these Hinge shoes in burgundy made perfect sense, because they’re a great price! I went down half a size in these.
Rag & Bone– Guess what is a part of the Sale again?!?! Yup, the ‘Margot’ Rag & Bone bootie. If you missed them last year, here’s your chance. Are you wondering why everyone loves these booties so much? It’s because they are universally flattering on all legs! That’s a tall order for booties! I have a philosophy that the deep v in front of the ankle causes it to slim the leg/ankle. Speaking of deep v…
I think Vince Camuto caught on, and I’m all for it! These booties looked darling on, and I think it’s the v. Plus, I absolutely love the color and price! They’ll match my new suede purses perfectly! I went down half a size in these.
UGG–Â Last fall/winter, I think I wore my black high tops the most out of any other shoe I own. I wore them out, so when I saw these, I had to try them on! Plus, I love the lace up. They reminded me of the ‘Sk8-Hi Slim’ Vans I had my eye on last fall/winter. These were a little cleaner of a look with simple lines. These fit true to size.
Louise Et Cie– I don’t have a pair of brown flats. I have brown booties, but I don’t have brown flats, so obviously… I had to have them. Plus, the zipper on the back makes them easy to slip on and off! These fit true to size.
Gentle Souls– I love these grey high tops, and they are extremely comfy. They have them in black and burgundy, too. They remind me of these Vince high tops. Move over slide on sneakers, it looks like high tops are coming on strong! These fit true to size.
Via Spiga– I fell in love with these boots…the color, the style, where they hit on the leg… But I was going to pass them up. I had already purchased too much. But then I thought about Thanksgiving and fall festivities and how I’d want to wear these boots, and it was done. I was sold. These fit true to size.
UGG– To be honest, I couldn’t decide between the Via Spiga boots and these boots. These felt a little more country/ranch-y, which I love. I could imagine my sis in these for that reason. I love the color and where they hit on the leg. Well, and they’re $80 less. These fit true to size.

The first place I hit yesterday was also the shoe department. I wanted the burgundy Franco Sarto patent loafers, but they weren’t available in my size. Not to worry, though, they ordered them for me, and they should be here next week. I’m also considering the Ugg hightops in brown. I tried on some very cute Topshop leopard pumps, but passed on those since I have several pairs of leopard flats. (unfortunately, I can’t wear a heel higher than 2″ so you’d think my choices are very limited, but you’d be wrong. I manage to find tons of shoes. 🙂 )

Carly, are the UGG Ava boots you are wearing the Natural or the Chestnut color? I’ve seen pictures of the Chestnut on another blog that looked lighter than they are on the website. I’m not sure which color to get.

I am wearing the chestnut color. I hope this helps!

Hi, I have a question about the Gentle Souls Claire Sneaker. What color are you wearing? On Nordstrom’s website they have 3 colors: cement leather (looks brown), red, and black. Wondering if the color sneaker you’re wearing went out of stock??
Thanks!!
Carly Lee says
Hi Anne, I am wearing the cement leather color in the pictures. My picture is more representative of the color than the Nordstrom website. Mine are definitely grey not brown. I hope this helps!

Nice blog on anniversary sale on shoes. All are good looking but i like Ugg boots most. You write here that Last fall/winter, you wore your black high tops the most out of any other shoe you own. You love the lace up. These were a little cleaner of a look with simple lines. These fit true to size and also provides comfort. I bought one from Ugg Boots For all, which provides 100% austrelian made sheepskin products. Thanks a lot.
