Let’s face it, Thanksgiving is a wonderful holiday, and we all look forward to time with family, but it can be stressful. I’ve been chatting about it with my friends, and we’ve all conferred that there are definitely stressful moments to be had. So I want to take one thing off your list of stressors- what to wear. Listen, in the end, it doesn’t really matter what you wear. It’s more about how you feel, so first and foremost, take care of yourself. Now let’s talk clothes because I don’t know about you, but when I feel cute, it makes me more equipped to deal. I’m just sayin’. Firstly, we found this cute top for my friend! Isn’t it darling?!? I wanted to buy it for myself, but I don’t have pretty cleavage like her. She can wear this top with jeans or black leather to edge it up. And it’s on SALE!
Most everything in this post is on SALE! So let’s go shopping:
Pixie Pant (On Sale) I’m wearing a size 00.
If there is one pant I recommend the most, it’s the black Pixie pant by J. Crew. They are flattering on so many different body types! Trust me, and if you don’t, just read the reviews! Ha! I love them and so does everyone I recommend them to. They are a thick material that sucks you in and slims you down at the same time. They are the perfect pant for work, date night, girls night, church… everywhere. They’re especially great for the times when you’re not sure how dressy an occasion is… “should I wear jeans, or is it fancier than that?”. Well, the Pixie pant is your solution! It’s best if they fit really tight. Once again, trust me. They run a bit long, but they come in short!
Have you guys seen this new brand of sneakers called D.A.T.E at Anthropologie? They’re pretty much a knock off of “golden goose“, but maybe they’re even cuter?! I especially like the pom pom furry ones! Which brings me to another good point, Anthropologie has a really great selection of sneakers right now. For some reason that’s surprising, but be sure to check them out here.
Plaid Top (On Sale) I’m wearing an xxs.
Plaids are in. Have you noticed? Ha! I love this plaid because it’s lightweight and not too bulky. I think the lighter weight of the flannel makes the shirt look a little more tailored. I’m also a sucker for green and black plaid. I’m wearing an x-small in this picture. I can see wearing this shirt for dressy and casual occasions.
Dressy: black (Pixie) pants with heels (dressy but not trying to hard), or tucked into a black pleated leather skirt with black flats or sneakers
Casual: black or grey denim with black booties or over the knee boots
If you find that this type of ex-boyfriend shirt is usually too big on you, check out Madewell’s new slim fit ex boyfriend shirt. This is for all my friends that usually have to shop in the juniors section to find shirts that are small enough.
Y’all, I’m dying over this plaid. First, it’s black and white, but look…
Plaid Top (On Sale) I’m wearing an xxs.
…it has this cute little button detail that goes up the side! I’ve never seen a plaid flannel like this before! It’s also lightweight and not too boxy. This shirt would look great on a pear shaped figure. The slide slits on the shirt are very slimming because the hem doesn’t cut at the hip. Order down a size or two, so it fits the shoulders right and isn’t too big.
Casual: You can wear this top with leggings, which is exactly what I plan to do! You could also wear it with white jeans and black boots! It’s that whole winter white look!
Dress (On Sale) I’m wearing a size 00.
This dress stopped my friend and me in our tracks. This picture doesn’t do it justice! I absolutely love a long sleeved dress. There is something so sophisticated about it, but I also love the neckline of this dress. I wore it last night with black flats, but you could wear it with opaque hose and black booties as it gets colder! Do you want to know the best part? It’s super flattering and really comfy! This dress would look good if you have a boyfriend figure or a pear shape figure because it comes in at the waist and flares at the bottom.
Top I’m wearing an xs.
Top I’m wearing an xxs.
I saw my sister (@tellittoyourneighbor) in this shirt, and I had to have it. She has the polka dot one, and I have the green one. I think I’m going back for her’s. Ha! I love this top so much. It’s goes dressy when I need it to, but it also goes casual. I don’t normally buy this color green, but I’m loving it.
Casual: I plan on wearing it with black but also with my blue jeans and booties. I could also wear it with grey jeans and black shoes.
Dressy: You could wear it with black pants, a blazer and over the knee boots!
Sweater I’m wearing an xs.
I just loved the color of this sweater and that it isn’t itchy. I repeat, it isn’t itchy! Yay! I feel like it can be worn with anything! I’m think this would look darling with the D.A.T.E. pom pom high tops! Oh no, I’m in trouble.
Coat I’m wearing a 0.
I have been pinning camel colored coats on Pinterest like crazy. There is something about this camel color that is so classic and sophisticated. What I really like about it is that it’s neutral and plays well with both brown and black. Once I learned it was 30% off, I decided I “needed” one! I had the hardest time deciding between the two different coats. I ended up with the first one, but now I think I should have bought the second one. Ha! I guess that just means they are both great!
Happy weekend, and happy shopping!
