Thanks for all the everyday outfit encouragement on Instagram and the blog. I’ll keep posting my outfits even when it’s nothing new because you all are right, that’s the way we really dress.
I’ve received a few questions on how to wear hose since my “7 Great Tips on Putting Together Outfits” post. I love wearing black hose for extra warmth, but after doing a bit of research, I now see all the ways to revamp my wardrobe with this one cool weather staple! So, I had to share! If you’ve been looking for a pair of good tights, I’ve got some really great recommendations!
So, here are 4 easy, no-fail ways to wear black hose and my recommendations:
#1- This is the way I wear black tights the most- black opaque tights with a skirt/dress. The tights add a layer of warmth to my legs, so it’s functional yet super chic. To me, this is the easiest way to wear tights. Pair the tights with any of your black shoes and you’re good to go. One thing I have noticed is that adding black on top, with a jacket or scarf, helps balance the heavy black on bottom. See below for inspiration.

I’d say if there was one pair of hosiery you could use in your wardrobe, it’s black opaque tights.

Very inspiring! My biggest regret is not wearing black opaque tights with my simple shift dress when I got married.;) It was a casual court house ceremony and I opted for bare legs. Not awful but black tights would’ve been sharper.;) haha. Still happily married after all these years.
Ha! I kinda wish I could have a wedding dress redo. My style has changed so much since I got married. I’d probably wearing something more simple. Oh well, still happily married- poofy dress and all!
