My Favorite Shorts For Summer

It is already very hot in Houston, and I’ve headed straight to wearing shorts. But recently, when I looked at the shorts section of my closet, I felt like it needed a refresh. Well, right about that time, my friend texted me for some guidance on what shorts to buy! So I convinced her to go hunting for THE perfect shorts for summer! We went to Nordstrom, Loft, Zara, Gap, Banana Republic, St. Bernard’s, Madewell and H&M. We were exhausted! Am I the only one who does not like shopping for shorts? I think I’d rather go white jean shopping (white jean post here)! I know, I think I am the only one.

I’ll post these shorts with different outfits all summer long on here and on Instagram, but you guys are seeing them here first!

So without further ado, these are the shorts that worked for BOTH of us, and we have different body types!

Top- Free People, Shorts- Alice + Olivia, Sandals- Steve Madden, Earrings- Argento Vivo

I’m starting off with my favorite pair, and (of course) they happen to be the most expensive. But, I plan to wear these the most. They are cotton, but they don’t look it. They have this silky, dressed-up sheen to them, so I can wear them dressed up or down. I bought them in black, too. My friend actually found these after our shopping trip, and they were both of our favorites! I’m wearing a zero.

My friend bought the most fabulous pair of grey shorts last summer, and ever since I saw them on her, I’ve wanted a pair for myself! Especially since I know that my grey/black jeans give all the tops in my closet a new life! It’s crazy how I can be sick of a top, but if I pair it with grey or black, I love it all over again! Well, these jean shorts will do the same! I’m wearing a zero.

Shorts- Madewell

I have plenty of cutoff denim shorts, but I like these because they are high waisted (avoiding the plumbers crack is always nice) and are a bit longer than most of my other cutoffs. I’m wearing a 25.

Shorts- Loft

You can’t tell it by the picture, but these are a dark denim short. The wash makes them feel updated. Oh, and I loved that they aren’t tight around the thighs. I’m wearing a 00.

Shorts- Loft

These are the same shorts as above, but these are just fun! Fun! Fun! I might call these my fiesta shorts. It doesn’t matter what I pair them with because these shorts stand by themselves! I’m wearing a 00.

Shorts- Banana Republic

First of all, can we just talk about the security tag placement on these shorts?! Ha! Anyway, these shorts have a longer inseam, are a dressier fabric and are extremely comfortable! I really love these shorts, and apparently, so does everyone else! Check out the reviews! I’m wearing a 0. This is how I wore them to church….

P.S. None of the shorts from the first picture worked for me. That was our first stop. We tried every pair on and were sweating by the end, which reminds me of this post.
