Nordstrom Anniversary Sale 2018: Shoes and Handbags

I can remember a time when my son was a baby and I went over to my sister’s house, and she showed me this really cute cape she had just purchased from a sale at Nordstrom called “The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale.” She was pretty giddy about the sale, and I was clueless as to why. Oh, how times have changed! Now, I get it. Who doesn’t want items that are about to be released for the fall at a discount? Yesterday, we shopped the #NSale2018 and found some really great stuff! Today, we start with shoes and handbags because that’s what usually sells out the fastest. I’ll post the rest of the items in the next couple of posts.

Cole Haan Lacey wedge (true to size)

I mean… these pumps! Don’t these pumps look Italian (fragile- Christmas Story, anyone?)? Anyway, they’re definitely not your average looking pump. I love the wedge, the feminine ankle strap, the cut outs and the toe! And, they are the perfect orangey red! Oh, and guess what? They are Cole Haan, so they’re super comfy!!!!!

Schultz Kayoko Sandal (true to size), Dress- J. Crew

These heels immediately reminded me of my client’s vintage Gucci heels that I thought were the prettiest heels I had ever seen. Well, I think these are the prettiest heels I’ve ever seen, but I like them even more because they don’t have the Gucci price tag. I could wear these with jeans just as easily as I could with dresses. The neutral color means they’ll go with everything!

VANS Classic Slip-On Gingham (sizing: my sister bought her usual size, and I went down a size), Dress- J. Crew

My sister and I were both giddy over these gingham Vans! Can you tell?! They are the perfect mix of preppy (with the gingham) and edgy (a sneaker for skaters)! We both decided that the reason we are so giddy about these sneakers is because we know they’ll go with everything. They’re comfy, so we’ll wear them all the time!

Steve Madden Sultan black suede (true to size), Dress- J. Crew

I love a classic high top (you may have noticed)! These remind me of the VINCE high tops I have, but guess what these have? A sneaky little lift inside, which makes them more elongating than the average high top. My friend pointed out that she loves how they’re not tight around the ankle, making them more flattering.

Rebecca Minkoff Galyn mule (true to size), Dress- J. Crew

I’m always looking for a versatile, black dressy shoe that has height but isn’t a black stiletto. I love the block heel on these black suede mules because they’re hip, but mostly because they are sturdy (I can use all the help I can get in that department #klutz). Usually, I only wear stilettos for really dressy occasions, but I could wear these with black dress pants, dresses and jeans. I think these will be my go-to shoes when I want to feel feminine, but I don’t want to break my neck.

Eileen Fisher Tilda (true to size)

Ok, so copy and paste everything I said for the last shoe here. You can also wear these dressy to casual without breaking your neck. (Wow, why did I use so many words to describe the previous shoe? -ha!)

Tory Burch Carlotta mule (true to size), Dress- J. Crew

If you’ve been wanting a pair of black mules, these are great! They are great quality and comfy.

Soludos Espadrille Loafer (true to size), Dress- J. Crew

These grey suede espadrilles would look so cute with white jeans and a comfy sweater! These are the perfect shoe for confusing situations, like when you’re at the beach but it’s cold, or when it’s hot outside but it’s fall. Does this make any sense? Ha! If you live in a beach town that gets cold at night, I think these shoes are perfect for you.

Via Spiga Misha Slip-On Sneaker, Dress- J. Crew

So, you know how you love to wear your sneakers, but sometimes you want them to look a little dressier and more sophisticated? Like, maybe you want the option to wear them with a dress? Or you want to wear sneakers, but you don’t want them to look like you are about to go workout? Well, these are your answer. I love that they show the ankle bone.

NIKE FREE RN (true to size)

I LOVE my black Nike Free RN’s! I love them! So, naturally, I HAD to have them in lavender!

Clare V. Simple tote taupe

I love this suede tote! It’s not a complicated bag with lots of hardware and flaps. I love that it’s a simple tote with a classic design, classic colors, and quality material. I’ve always loved the simplicity of Clare V. products, and I was happy to see them as part of the SALE.

Madewell Leather Bucket Bag

I like the quality of the Madewell leather purses, and I love their classic designs, too! I love a classic bucket bag, and this one goes on the shoulder and across the body!

Rebecca Minkoff Darren small feed bag black

In my mind, this bag has just the right amount of hardware, and the feed bag design is simple. It’s a great balance! I like that the hardware is silver! It’s refreshing! It’s a great opportunity to mix metals for more interest!

Rag & Bone Olive suede hobo, Dress- J. Crew

I guess we can see a theme here in my purse picks -ha! Simple, clean, practical, and good quality! I love that this bag isn’t the usual brown or black, but this particular green color is still a neutral and can be worn just as easily!
