Men’s Gift Guide- Tried and True Recommendations

“What jeans do you recommend for men?” “What pants do you recommend for men?” I’ve been asked these two questions quite a bit recently. And I was disappointed to find that it was very difficult to find this information on C. Style. Well, I’m remedying this issue right now with this post! These are all tried and true menswear recommendations. All the items can be vouched for by my VERY picky husband (nothing wrong with being picky, btw) and his friends. And if you don’t believe us, check out the reviews! For sizing reference, my husband is 220 lbs and 6′ 5″.

1. Patagonia Better Sweater: My husband will wear this as a sporty alternative to a traditional sweater. He usually wears it will a collared dress shirt under it, but a t-shirt would look good, too. For sizing reference, my husband wears a L.
2. Peter Millar Polo: If your guy needs some nicer polos that are performance material (sweat wicking etc.) to wear to work or out sporting around, these are a great fit and great quality. I also like this one but it’s selling out fast. For sizing reference, my husband wears a L.
3. Peter Millar Button-down: My husband doesn’t actually wear these button-downs under his suits, he wears these with jeans and pants for a dressy-casual look. We really like this button down because it’s a trimmer (but not too trim), more tailored fit. For sizing reference, my husband wears a L.
4. AG Pants: These pants are going to go down as the most popular menswear pant of the 21st century. Bold statement, I know, but if you look, you’ll start to notice how many men wear these pants. There’s a reason, of course! They have a wonderful stretch to them that makes them comfortable and flattering on so many men, the leg isn’t too wide, and they come in a ton of different colors! They’re not too old looking, and they’re not too young looking. They’re perfect. For sizing reference, these pants run true to size.
5. Anderson’s Belt: Looking for a casual belt that goes with everything? This is it. I like that it’s not leather, so it goes with sneakers of all kinds but also looks good with loafers and dress shoes. And since it’s stretch, it’s ok if the waistline expands a little after Thanksgiving and Christmas dinner. I also like it in this color!
6. La Matera Belt: This is a fun belt that’s a bit different and adds a touch of cool to an outfit.
7. AG Jeans: We had the hardest time finding jeans that fit my husband and looked cool, until AG came out with the Everett! And now we can’t wait to try the Everett pants, they come in a ton of colors!!! Since they don’t make the Graduate (the pants I talk about above) in dark grey anymore, I’m going to order him a dark grey pair of Everett’s. His dark grey Graduates are in dire straights -no amount of cleaning can help those pants. For sizing reference, these pants run true to size.
8. B Draddy Polo: These polos are made of super soft Peruvian Pima Cotton! Need I say more?! My husband tried one on at a golf pro shop and now every time he sees a B. Draddy shirt anywhere, he buys it. That’s saying something. For sizing reference, my husband wears a XL, but I think it’s too large.
9. Allbirds: My younger by 9 years (read hipper) sister-in-law gave my husband a pair of Allbirds for Christmas last year. Guess what his favorite pair of shoes are?! Yup, his Allbirds. They are super soft and comfy. They are made of a temperature-regulating, moisture-wicking wool. You don’t have to wear socks. When they get dirty or smelly, you can throw them in the washing machine. I need a pair for my boys, amirite?
10. Theragun Massager (ON SALE for BLACK FRIDAY): Last summer, our friends (thank you, Forts!) brought their Theragun massager (a LEGIT massage gun) to the baseball fields and all the parents passed it around trying it out for ourselves. This thing actually works just as well as an actual massage. Frankly, I want it for myself, and since my husband is hard to buy for, I figure this is a perfect compromise-ha! Uh-oh, is this the equivalent of a husband buying his wife a blender? Oh well. Plus, my husband desperately wants a massage chair (read lazy boy looking chair in the middle of my living room… ummmm), so I’m hoping this Christmas present will be a perfect substitute! I sure hope so, or else… Btw, my friends had the G3, and that’s the one I ordered.
11. Ted Baker Polo: Speaking of my younger/hipper sister-in-law, she recommended I look at this polo her husband (who is also younger/hipper) loves. Then I saw the great reviews, and I decided it needed to be added to this gift guide. If you have a younger/hipper guy you’re trying to buy for, definitely check this polo out because clearly a lot of people like it -ha!
