I’m oddly excited about this category! I guess it’s what they had most in stock in the store, so I was able to try the items on. But, I’m also excited because I felt like there were some really fun pieces and some good quality staple pieces.
For instance, I’m so excited about this VINCE top! I can imagine some might not find this top very exciting, but for me, I know this top is such a great quality staple at a discounted price! This is one of those tops that works like a white tee, but it’s a bit dressier and sophisticated. Wear it with anything really. Wear it untucked, wear it sloppy tucked, where it tucked all the way in, wear it with jeans, wear it with joggers, wear it with skirts, wear it with everything! It also comes in black. I am wearing an XS, and I like the sizing.
This is just cu-ute! And apparently, I’m not the only one who thinks so, because it was already sold out in store and on-line when I got to the store. Argh. I’m keeping it in this post in hopes they restock it. This has the price point of an Anthropologie shirt, but it has lots more detail than you usually get at this price point. This is one of those tops that you can wear anytime you want to get dressed up (girls night, date night, any kind of party), but it’s easy enough to wear to work.Ba&sh Silk Blouse
You know in the dead of winter when you are tired of wearing black and grey? Or is it just me? That’s when you pop out of your closet in color with this darling multi-colored rainbow sweater that’s being offered for less than $50! And it has no wool, so not a nary of an itch! I am wearing a size XS.
Topshop Turtleneck Sweater
This is my kind of sweater!! First, it’s striped (I wear stripes so much), and it’s super soft! Secondly, it hits right at the hip bones (which is the most flattering spot for a top to hit), BUT it doesn’t hug the middle. Thirdly, I love the color. The oatmeal kinda has a tinge of pink that I love! I am wearing a size small, but I need it in an XS.Frame Mock Neck Sweater
I’m excited about this dress for lots of reasons! First, I love the quality of Veronica Beard, and I’ve never seen a dress by her offered at a reasonable price. Secondly, they knew what they were doing when they decided to offer this specific dress. It’s figure flattering on so many body types because it has a waistline that doesn’t hug the middle, and it covers the arms! Everyone’s happy with this dress! I am wearing a size 0.
Veronica Beard Puff Sleeve Dress
Who doesn’t love a white button down you don’t have to iron or worry about looking wrinkled?! On days I’m tired of wearing a white tee, I can see grabbing this shirt instead. Oh, and just in case blue and white stripes is your white, this might be your shirt instead.Ellis Cotton Shirt
Looking for a top from the #NSale you can wear now? This top was darling, and since it’s black, I could see it working with lots of items in a closet. I am wearing a size L in the picture because they were low in stock in all other sizes.
I can’t help but get excited about an offering that’s two pieces for what feels like the price of one! I’ve seen slip dresses slowly entering the style scene recently, thanks, in my mind, to the queen of slip dresses, Dannijo. She’s got great ideas on how to style slip dresses- throw a blazer on top, throw a tank on top and knot it, throw a sweater on top (as pictured), heck, throw a sweatshirt on top! To get the exact look above, check out these booties included in the #Nsale.
ALLSAINTS Tierny Two-Piece Sweater & Slipdress
This reminds me of my J. Crew v-neck sweater I wear all the time (so much, that it now has holes). Besides the obvious things to pair this sweater with (jeans, skirts, trousers), I could see wearing it over a dress in or wearing it backward (so the back is open) for something different! I am wearing a size small, but I need a size XS.
This top had me at stripes. I have a ecru and navy strip shirt by St. James that I wear non-stop at home. This company is doing an updated St. James concept, so I’ve been super curious. And I like this discounted price. Plus, it’s described as “luxuriantly soft cotton jersey”! I could see wearing it with white joggers at home or light blue jeans and sneakers.
A tie-dye tee that has a little different look by the maker of my favorite t-shirt- sounds pretty good!
I feel like this dress could easily be confused for a dress by VINCE, but it’s less than $35! Pair this dress with a pair of black booties for a super cute look. I can see changing the look of this dress by adding a sweater or sweatshirt to the top! I am wearing a size 2, but I like the size 4 better.Topshop Dress
The next few tops stood out to me because while I scroll through tops on the sale, as a stylist, I’m immediately attracted to the ones that are:
- universally flattering
- versatile- can be dressed up (work) or down (casual)
- look expensive
- will stand the test of time/classic
These are the kinds of tops I find myself reaching for most because they always just work. They are also the tops that stay in my closet longest because their style has staying power.

I believe a pencil skirt to be an essential item have in a closet, and this one has great reviews for a fantastic price!
On a side note, I really like this top, but the keyhole exposes a little more than I like.
