I think this wall may say something about my personality. Well, I know it does… As some of you know, we are adding onto our house. So, I asked our builder and friend, Andrew Evans of Parker Evans Custom Homes (who doesn’t really do additions or renovations, but doing our addition as a favor), to put up a temporary wall in our kitchen, so I don’t have to see the construction -ha! #recoveringperfectionist
BEFORE
And of course, being a creative, recovering perfectionist, the ugly plywood wall was kinda getting to me-ha! So I decided to have fun with it! My oldest son turned 13 a couple of weeks ago, so I made a fringe wall for his birthday celebration! It’s really fun because it shimmers when the air hits it! It’s so fun, I’ve decided to keep it up!
AFTER
I learned a few things, so I thought I’d share in case you want to do a fun fringe b-day wall someday.
I used 2 different colorful fringe wall curtains, and I layered one on top of the other. The one on the bottom has purple, which shows through when the top layer moves! It really takes it up a notch (check it out in the video)!
I tried lots of different tape, but the one that finally stuck was clear packing tape.
When buying happy birthday banner balloons, buy the cursive ones, so you don’t have to blow up each individual letter. My sister (@tellittoyourneighbor) taught me this trick– she’s a genius!
