My Birthday was yesterday and I’m sure you can guess what I did… I went shopping with my sister, of course! While at J. Crew in the Galleria we ran into our good friend who said, “…and look you’re in your favorite store!” Indeed! For this reason I thought it would be appropriate to take pictures in front of the gigantic J.Crew going into Highland Village. Can I get a woot, woot?!?
I fell in love with this top at J. Crew. I’d seen it in the store before when a friend pointed it out and said, “that totally looks like you”. She was right. I loved it but didn’t want to spend the money, so I passed. Well, yesterday was my Birthday and they were offering 20% off so…well you know. When leaving the store my sister said, “I can’t wait to see what you pair it with.” Little did she know she’d be picking out the outfit- ha!
So, as the story goes with kiddos, I’m up in my bedroom quickly trying to throw together an outfit that lives up to my sisters expectations (she really has none, I’ve put this on myself) while my mother-in-law watches the boys. When my sister comes up to my bedroom to see if I’m ready for dinner, of course I’m not. I’m totally annoyed because my outfit isn’t going as planned. I had this outfit on exactly but with my floral capris that I posted (here). I told her that I wasn’t digging the outfit and she said, “I think you need to wear jeans”- yes!!!! Genius!!!! I’m always telling clients, everybody needs a sister in their closet. It’s totally true. Maybe I should rename C. Style, “Sister In Your Closet” -ha!
I felt like I needed some glitzy bracelets to accentuate the collar. Well, I don’t have lots of glitzy bracelets, so I wrapped my venus flytrap J.Crew necklace around my wrist as a bracelet!
I couldn’t help myself, it was just too fun! Cheesy? Yes. But, fun!
