Memorial Day weekend reminded me just how much time I spend in my bathing suit during the summer months. I was very happy that I had actually thought ahead for once and was prepared with some swimsuits and cover ups I felt comfortable in. Good thing too, since our beach vacation is right around the corner.
I posted my cover up picks last week (here). But what I didn’t talk about in the post is all my requirements that a cover up has to meet. Yes, I even have requirements for cover ups (and travel outfits and shoes and t-shirts and …) -ha!
When I purchase a cover-up, I truly want to be covered up. Am I the only one? I just want to be able to go from the beach/pool into a sandwich shop and not be uncomfortable or uncovered -ha! So one of my requirements is that it transitions easily from one activity to the next.
I like it to cover both top and bottom. It needs to be non-restricting and functional.

Cover-up- Nordstrom or similar, Swimsuit- Tommy Bahama, Sunglasses- Prada, Hat- J.Crew, Hoops- Argento Vivo, Sandals- K. Jacques here and here for similar
It also needs to be light weight and quick drying.
Another requirement is that the cover-up can’t be completely sheer. Did I mention I like to be covered? Ha! Well, just in case you are on a cover-up search, keep a few of these requirements in mind. Happy cover-up season to you, enjoy the hunt!

Oh, and I also posted about rash guards. I’ll be honest, this one is a little out there for me, but thanks to all of you for the sweet comments on Instagram (muah!). Because of you, I feel a little more confident. I still might only wear it in my backyard or on my beach vacation with my husband, but now I will feel better about it, so thank you! Did you notice the black Old Navy shorts? I’m telling you, I wear them non-stop. Anyway, a BIG thank you for letting the goodness of humanity shine through in your comments.
