I’m about to share with you the best hair trick EVER!
Well, in my opinion anyway. It takes very little effort, and you know I like that. It’s what I call my two day hair trick, and here’s how I do it:
On the first day, I simply get out of the shower and do a very lax job of blow drying. I just flip upside down and dry it. I’ll use a round brush on the bangs and around the face, but the rest I put up in a bun.
Here’s how I do my bun:
1.) I gather my hair like I’m about to put it into a pony tail, and while holding the pony tail together at the crown, I twist the hair.2.) While still holding the hair at the crown of my head, I’ll move the long twist counterclockwise around my head to form a bun. 3.) I make sure I have a firm grip on the end of my hair once I have finished forming the bun.4.) With a clip, I will secure the end to my head. 5.) I try to hide the clip close to my head, which also helps tighten and secure the bun.
Viola! Here is the final look for day 1. A “put together” look with very little effort, except for the round brush to the bangs around my face. If it falls out, I just put it right back up with my clip! But the best part is that it’s also taming that frizz for an entire day. At the end of day 1, before I go to sleep, I’ll redo my bun and add more little clips for some reinforcement. I don’t use rubber bands because they create a kink and cause breakage. I sleep in my bun and the next day….

Silverin Houston I throw a shower cap on over my bun to protect my hair while I take a shower. When I get out, I let the bun down and spray my roots with some dry shampoo (if needed), and this is what it looks like! How easy is that?!?!
From frizz to waves with little effort! Now listen, I know this isn’t going to work on everyone’s hair style or type, but I’ve used some variation of this for a long time with a variety of different hair cuts and hair textures (it changed every time I had a baby). When I had no bangs, I would wash and dry my hair at night and then put two buns on my head to sleep, one on the top and one in the middle of my head. My roommate in college and my cousin taught me to just do the hair that counts and then throw the rest in a bun or ponytail (thanks CT and KG). I think anyone can modify this trick for their hair type. Give it a try, and let me know what you think!
Here are my supplies: dry shampoo, shower cap and hair clips. These are the ones I’m using right now. I couldn’t find my favorite dry shampoo, but I’m really liking this one, too.

Girl, I like your hair in a bun. So pretty. On the other hand, I wish I could do this trick. But this hair just don’t work that way. 😉

Totally trying this trick next time I wash my hair…which might be in a few or several days! 😉

I’ve tried a version of this and almost liked it – but I think your tricks are better (no hair elastic). I think this could work really well on my hair which is neither curly nor straight and has to be encouraged to go one of those directions.

Does your hair really stay up with only one clip? Both hairstyles are gorgeous – you are gorgeous!

Great post! I have long hair too and get so annoyed washing it so I leave it for several days. Will have to try this!
