Accessorie Links: Rings- J.Crew and Nordstrom for similar, Bracelet- Miansai, Watch- Kate Spade
Am I the only one that has noticed the not quite white, not quite pink, opaque nail polish trend? You know what I’m talking about? When I was flipping through the Nordstrom catalog, I felt like every model had it on! Well, I love it! It’s perfect for me, because it’s not too crazy. So naturally, when I was at Walgreen’s, I picked up a similar color to try it out for myself (you know I walked out of there with crazy finger nails from testing). This one is Essie Wrap Me Up Cashmere Matte, and I love it! I really like that it’s matte- it’s fun! Oh, and don’t look to hard at my nails, I did them myself. I’m hoping the excess paint comes off in the shower -ha! Anyway, just in case you are getting your nails done this weekend, I thought I’d give you some nail inspiration. Because for me, the wall of nail polish can be a little daunting!
What is your favorite not quite white, not quite pink, opaque nail polish? We would all like to know! Comment below and I’ll try to add the polish links as the day goes on!
Happy Weekend Everyone!

Angel Food by Essie. Took me about a year to find the right not-quite-white color. Not too white, not too pink, not to creamy. Just right. And it doesn’t yellow. I buy 2 bottles at a time and haul them to the nail salon. Been wearing it about 8 years.

I noticed the same thing in the Nordstrom calendar ~ especially the polishes the models wore with the embellished sandals. The jewels are enough, you don’t need a bright polish.
I really love a new one I just picked up at the drug store. It’s Revlon Sheer Cotton. It needs 3 coats to be opaque, but it’s a really nice vanilla cream color.

Oh ~ I meant to also say: I always leave the drug store with at least 5 different colored fingernails. I thought I was the only one! Can’t tell you how many mistakes I’ve avoided testing them first!
Carly Lee says
Ha! I’m glad I’m not the only one!

Bubble Bath by OPI. Be sure to apply 2 (or 3) coats. Tried and true. 😉
Elle Guerrini says
Funny Bunny by OPI is amazing!
Kathy S says
I usually get Funny Bunny, but this time got “Act your Beige” by OPI and love it! Perfect nude/white color.

Ok, that is TOO FUNNY because when I was at Marshall’s the other day, they had some Essie polish for just $3.99 a bottle. One was a cashmere mist & I had no idea what that meant. But it was pretty so I bought it, then came home & googled it & found what it is 🙂 Just last night I did my nails (I always do my own!!) with Just Stitched. I like it, but it took 3 coats & I really wanted to use my matte top coat but since that isn’t fast dry & my regular top coat is, I used that …. so my nails are a shiny matte LOL

Ballet slippers by essie is my go to forever!!! Love your style and your blog!!!
Gayle says
LOVED Ballet Slipper. It was the best, but I found it tended to yellow on me. Angel Food worked better – for me!

My favorite is Marshmallow by Essie!
Suzanne says
I love the gel OPI Polish and my latest fav is Mod About You Pastel. Lighter and whiter than regular Mod About You. Closer to Ballet Slippers but more opaque.
Carly Lee says
Wow, thanks gals for all the recommendations! I can’t wait to try them!

I stumbled upon my favorite (CHEAP) polish at Walgreens. It’s Wet-n-Wild Megalast “A Latte Love.” I have always been an OPI /Essie/Revlon girl. I read somewhere to try the WW Megalast collection and this was the one I grabbed. I own a lot of polish, but this is my #1! My second fav for Spring is
“Minimalistic” by Essie.
