Once in Junior High, I was trying to figure out my outfit with a friend, and I was having trouble because the shirt and pants didn’t match exactly. My friend looked at me like I was crazy and said something like, “Yes, you can wear those together, they’re in the same color family!”. Well, I took her advice then and, as you can see, I still benefit from her advice! I just love a monochromatic look! Not to mention, it’s easy to put together.
But, I’m always trying to do something a little unexpected when styling outfits. It makes it a little more fun…for me at least -ha! Pairing these wedges with this grey outfit reminded me of these two principles: go monochromatic and adding the unexpected. I think J. Crew has mastered these two principles, which is one of the reasons I love flipping through their Style Guide (aka catalog)!
Jacket- Nordstrom, Tee- J.Crew, Pants on SALE- Paige, Wedges- Via Spiga, Necklace- Madewell for similar, Bag- Stella McCartney smaller version, Earrings- Argento Vivo, Bracelet- Giles and Brother, Watch- Michael Kors
Plus, I had to share my major find with you all. Well, I can’t take the credit. The sales associate at Nordstrom showed the jacket to me, because she knew I’d love it. She was right and the price is even more right! Plus, it’s cotton and it feels like you’re wearing a sweatshirt. You’ll be seeing it a lot more as the cooler weather arrives. If you’ve been on the fence with the moto/edgy look, this jacket is a great way to try the look out because it’s not too expensive.
Hi Carly.. What size did you get in the jacket?
Hi Jan, Thanks for the comment. I meant to include this information in the post. The jacket runs a bit small. I usually wear an xs, and I have a small in the jacket.
I love this look! I have similar pants from old navy…going to try this look this weekend 🙂
