I swear I haven’t gone off the fashion deep end, I promise. Ha! When my bestie came in town for a visit, she was wearing Converse high tops, and I immediately said something like, “I don’t think I could ever pull that look off”. But, the more I saw her wear them, the more I fell in love with the look and the more I wanted to give it a try. Now, I’m sold. And for those of you who have been wearing Converse high tops for years, disregard this post and act like I’ve been wearing them for years, too -ha!
But for those of you who are in my camp and are feeling a little trepidatious, here’s my best look to try and convince you. Now, just imagine this basic outfit with another cute shoe. I immediately thought of a black bootie. And while yes, a black bootie would be really cute, the Converse seem to take the outfit to the next level by giving it a casual yet cool look. And you know I can use all the extra cool I can get. Plus, it’s a sneaker and you know I’m a sucker for practical!
I owe a big thanks to Nicole for being my fashion inspiration for this post, and for many years. We’ve been having fun with clothes since 3rd grade, and have both ended up working in fashion. We all need someone to keep us trying new things as styles evolve. She is that person for me, and my hopes is to pass on that fun, inspirational thing we have. So try some high top Converse! You may feel really LA cool in them -ha! Yes, I really did just say that.
