How to Wear Your Favorite Dress Again and Again

I had a really amazing evening on Wednesday attending David Peck’s Fall/Winter 2014 Runway Show with my sister. There will be more about the show in the next post with some really great inspiration, so stay tuned. But for now, this is what I wore. The dress is David Peck, of course, and I love it! Something I love to do is wear a white, crisp shirt under different dresses in my closet. It allows you to wear your favorite dresses in a different way, again and again!

But of course, one must pop the collar and accessorize -ha! I popped the collar and buttoned the shirt all the way up, except for the top button. Leaving the top unbuttoned allowed me to turn down the front of the collar. I wore my “banana box” ring and my moms Anne Klein earrings. Good thing you can’t see my nails up close, I did them while my sister in law was doing my hair.

I originally had my hair in a top knot. In fact, when we arrived in this garden to take pictures, it was in a top knot. After my sister took a few pictures, I looked at them and there was something about the top knot that didn’t feel like “me”. I took it down and left the high pony tail, and it was so much more “me”. A little tip: I wore a tube slip under the dress, with the shirt tucked into the slip. It helped the shirt stay put and not blouse out.

CARLY! GORGEOUS!!!!!!!! If I didn’t like you so much, we would have to stop being friends. I believe I’ve mentioned this before, but I really do mean it.

I was definitely going to ask how you got such a smooth silhouette with a blouse under a dress! Thanks for the slip tip. I love how you mixed it up for an unexpected, elegant look.
