First things first, I’d like to thank YOU! Your comments on Monday’s post were so kind. I was assuming you all would leave comments about the clutch, but I should have known better. I’m reminded once again what a wonderfully encouraging sisterhood I get to be a part of here on C. Style. I was feeling overwhelmed after coming home from the conference, and your comments helped me remember to embrace my own point of view as a blogger. Thank YOU! Congratulations to Kimberly H. for winning the GiGi New York Stella clutch!
On the final evening of the blogger conference last weekend, they had an all white party. Well, as I’m sure you can relate, I would have preferred not to show up wearing the same thing as someone else. That can be challenging when the attire is limited to one color. I’ve done the same dress hunt for a number of clients, so I know I’m not alone in this sentiment. I know it’s a bit trivial, and it wouldn’t be the end of the world to show up to find a twin. In fact, it’s happened before, and I thought it was fun! But I do love a good challenge and a dress hunt!
Over the years I have learned a few secrets on how to find that perfect dress no one else is wearing. For this dress, I used one specific secret. Instead of going to a department store or a department store’s website to find a dress, shop a specific brand’s website that works for you. For me, I shopped Ralph Lauren’s website, because I really relate to the brand. It’s high style at varying price points. I do this with other brands, too, like Rebecca Minkoff and Alice and Olivia. A lot of times the brands have certain items that department stores decided not to carry, which makes them a perfect place to shop for this situation.
Here’s to hoping you find a perfect dress that no-one else is wearing! Obviously, this secret is not a guarantee! If you show up at a party and find a twin, embrace it! Take a picture for fun and move on!
