This outfit may look familiar to you because I posted it in my Spring Dress Series Collage. The Spring Dress Series collages (here, here and here) have been so helpful to me. I hope they have been helpful to you, too. When I was picking accessories for the collages, and when I am trying to decide what accessories to wear with an outfit, I try to mimic something that’s going on in the outfit.
This outfit is such a perfect example. As you can see, the lace cutout at the top of my dress matches the earring design almost perfectly!
Then I mimicked the overall round shape of the earring with the round shape of the bag. I also liked how the earring had a bit of tan/skin tone color behind it. Once again, it mimicked the lace cutout in the dress and the tan color matched my bag.
There you have it! The easiest way to pick accessories is to mimic different attributes you see in the overall outfit, whether it be the color, shape or feel of the outfit! Now just imagine my outfit without the accessories. Kinda boring, huh? Accessories are worth it. They are the icing on the outfit cake. HA!
