First off let me say, Thank YOU! The handful of you (3 or 4) that reached out to me wondering about the timing of my Gift Guides and complimenting them, you all have really given me a big boost. I’m so grateful to hear that you all like them and are anticipating them. That makes me feel so good. I am a perfectionist (I know you already know this), which makes Gift Guides tedious because I won’t stop until I find the perfect items. So, to know that you guys like them, gives me even more motivation. Thank you for taking the time to let me know!
I have to say, I think there is an art to gifting. I know people who are really good at it. Namely, my sister-in-law, Mallory, who I have asked to help me with these Gift Guides. When someone thinks about you and gets you something meaningful, it’s pretty special. I’m also way more into giving these days than receiving (looky there, I’m growing up -ha!). Each item has been picked for a specific reason, so I’ve decided to do one item at a time instead of a collage.
For the Men’s Gift Guide, I’m posting my husband’s favorite things. I do this because, well, we know they are vouched for by a SUPER PICKY person (I love you, babe, but you know it’s true), but also because I’ve been encouraged by many of you who have told me your guys love a lot of my husband’s favorites. YAY!!!
So, here are my husband’s favorites…
Rastal Teku Craft Beer Tasting Glasses
Speaking of my sister-in-law, the ultimate gift giver, she gave my very difficult to shop for husband these BEER glasses last year. My husband LOVES a good, unique (shall I say, gourmet?) beer. He will go to boutique grocery stores just to walk the beer aisle. So this was one of those super thoughtful gifts. Every time he drinks a beer, he goes to the bar to pour it into this glass. He loves it. Description: “The best glass for craft beers and gourmet beers; favored by tasting professionals and beer enthusiasts alike. The overall shape of the glass, it’s relatively chimney-shaped upper bowl, highlight the qualities of aroma rich beers.”
Patagonia Better Sweater Pullover
Out of the 10 total sweaters/fleeces my husband owns, three of them are Patagonia fleeces. Now, that’s saying something. Two are this exact fleece. He usually wears them over a button down shirt for a more casual look- a sweater alternative, if you will. He has this exact color (navy) and a rust color (no longer available), but there are a ton of colors to choose from!
Jack Black Supreme Cream, Art of Shaving Brush
This shaving cream kinda makes me want to stop using soap as my shaving cream -ha! Read this description- “A shave cream with a luxurious, creamy lather that lifts your whiskers up for a smooth, ultra-close shave. Protective Triple Cushion Technology helps prevent razor burn, irritation, nicks and cuts.” Yes, please! My husband has been using this shave cream and this brush to apply it for over three years now and hasn’t switched. I’m tempted to try his. Shhhh, don’t tell him.
Ok, so I’m letting you guys in on a recent “funny”. You have seen me post a backpack every year in this post. My husband loves TUMI and has this (old man) carry-on bag that I’ve been trying to replace for years (hence the reason I always post a backpack on the gift guide). I thought I finally had a winner this year because its TUMI, and he loves TUMI! I showed it to him and he finally let me know that he IS NOT a backpack person. DANG IT! The old man carry-on bag stays. Oh well. Anyway, if your husband does like backpacks, can you buy this one for him so I can live vicariously through you? Instead, he asked for this…
Oh, fine… Ha! Expensive luggage is actually a great gift because you wouldn’t normally buy it for yourself. Am I right?
Beats wireless in-ear headphones
My husband recently got these wireless Beats, and he is WAY excited about them. Like walking around our house with them on listening to music… Hahahaha! Maybe he’s trying to tune me out. (Btw, the new iPhone X has no head phone jack, you have to have wireless.)
These are the two pairs of shoes my husband wears most. He wore the slide-ons so much this summer, he had to throw them away. He wears both with his AG Graduates (post (here)), and it looks great!
This is his third most worn shoe. They are actually house slippers that can be worn beyond the house, like to pick up the newspaper or to grab Shipley Doughnuts for the kids on Saturday morning.
The next items are what I’m getting my husband for Christmas…
Where to Drink Coffee, Where Bartenders Drink, Where Chefs Eat
He loves loves coffee, he loves a great drink and he loves good food, so why not a book on where to find the best of those things all around the world?!? Should I buy all three or just one? Ha!
Alright, so I had to talk him into this one because it was pretty expensive, but I think it’s going to be his favorite gadget of ALL time! I’ve stopped drinking red wine (I’ve started to have a really bad reaction to it, but more on that later), and we have a ton of red wine (as in an entire wine refrigerator full). Well, he won’t open up a bottle just for himself, so the wine just sits in there. Well, with this nifty gadget, you can pour yourself a glass straight from the bottle without ever popping the cork. It has a needle that goes in the cork and then releases a gas that prevents the rest of the bottle from becoming oxidized. He can drink red wine again, and I’m off the hook! YAY!!!!! You can buy the individual gadget without the accessories (here).

Just ordered the patagonia sweater. Thanks, friend! love me some C-style. 🙂
YAY! Charlie is going to look very nice in his new Patagonia!
Love. Love. Thank you! My hubs “purchased” list is at 0. Not anymore! Pullover & slippers are now added. He’s still enjoying his Peter Miller golf shorts from Father’s Day list a few years ago.
This makes me happy, Jennifer!
