I desperately want to avoid buying my boys junk this Christmas. Like I said in the Men’s Gift Guide, I’m trying to be a better (and smarter) gift giver this Christmas. Therefore, I’ve been asking everyone I see what they’re buying their kiddos for Christmas. Like everyone. Ha! To all of my friends who helped me with this post, thank you! You have helped us avoid buying a whole bunch of junk. Also, when you shop off of this post, you are doing good at the same time because we will donate 10% of the proceeds to Toys for Tots! Shop and do good!
Mom, can you set my alarm? Mom, can you play that DJ (no idea what the guy’s name is) song? Mom, can you set my reading timer? Mom, do I have to wear pants tomorrow? Mom, what’s the fastest animal? Mom, what’s the largest animal? All questions that Alexa can answer and does! I’m in. Not that I don’t like answering these sweet questions, but it will be nice to get a break every now and then. Oh, and I will be happy to have DJ such and such blasting in their rooms and not the kitchen. Ha!
Pink Sleeping Bag, Ruched Sleeping Bag, Quilted Sleeping Bag, LLBean Sleeping Bag
My boys have started to have sleepovers with friends more, and although I have beds for all the kids, they always want to sleep on the floor. Go figure. For this reason, I’m going to buy them sleeping bags for Christmas! Pottery Barn Teen had some really cute ones (3 on the left), and I just love (and always have) LLBean sleeping bags (right).
Herschel Supply Co. Chapter Carry On
Speaking of sleepovers, I think it’s about time I upgrade the ziplock bag I usually stuff their toiletries in. Leave it to Herschel to come up with the coolest dop kits I’ve ever seen!
My son received this capture the flag game for his birthday. The kids immediately set it up and played with it outside. They keep going back to it, too! They even play it inside with their friend. It’s perfect for a child who likes games but isn’t into board games.
Who wants to have a Christmas and New Years dance party? This microphone is a karaoke microphone and Bluetooth stereo speaker all in one! And it’s compatible with karaoke apps on iPhones and Androids! What’s a dance party without a disco ball?!
My son asked for a smart watch for his birthday. I immediately said no because I’m not nice like that and it sounded like junk. Ha! But then he got birthday money, and of course, this is what he purchased. I’ve actually been pretty impressed with it. Beyond the normal functions of a watch, you can also take recordings, pictures and play tic tac toe and other games. The Star Wars edition makes light saber noises and has Star Wars images- pretty cool.
My youngest son loves ICEEs and slushy’s, so my sister-in-law (the ultimate gift giver) gave him this slushy maker for his birthday. Y’all, it actually works!!! He had a rootbeer slush after school the other day in less than 4 minutes. And as he had it, it kept getting more and more slushy. It’s a great gift.
Heart Earrings, Rainbow Necklace, Emoji Necklace, Star Necklace
I’m over the moon for this Estella Bartlett brand for decently priced tween/teen girl gifts. My friend gave her teen nieces a star and a heart necklace, and they put them on and didn’t take them off for the whole time she was visiting. Now that’s the sign of a good gift! I’m getting the little heart earrings for my 10 year old niece!
I love to read Ranger Rick with my boys at bedtime. We get to learn fun facts about different animals and see really neat pictures. I, of course, forget all the facts, but my boys remember every single one of them. The whole family gets excited when a Ranger Rick comes in the mail! My mother-in-law gave both my boys a subscription a couple years ago. I think it’s one of the best presents they’ve ever received.
My older son and his friends are all about drones! It’s hard to find a drone that is easy enough for him to fly, but this one has proved to work well and he loves that it has a camera. I will have to say, I was pretty impressed with it.
Finally, a place for the fidget spinner collection!
STOCKING STUFFERS:
Cinnamon Roll, Ice Cream Cone, PB&J, Pancake
Have you guys heard of Squishes? The boys discovered them at their cousin’s house in Dallas over Thanksgiving. My youngest was so impressed that he brought one downstairs specifically to show it to me. I bought a few for stocking stuffers and for friend gifts!
My friend gave my son this balance bird for his birthday. We have had so much fun seeing what we can get it to balance on! It’s actually quite surprising and fun! Since it was such a hit, my other son is getting one in his stocking.
My friend told me that she is putting these in her daughter’s stocking. They’re perfect for my boys, too!
10% of the proceeds from this post will go to Toys for Tots! I’ll let you all know how much we raise!
These are sooooo good. Thank you! Can you believe you’re buying a cinnamon roll stress ball for a child?!?! I am too. My nieces and nephews are obsessed.
