The Summer Boost

How’s your summer going?! Frankly, I’m needing a little bit of a boost. I think of making the turn into the last month of summer as a “push” moment (as Brené Brown calls it). I need someone to yell in my ear, “PUSH!,” just as they do to mama’s in labor- ha! August is when I usually have a summer melt down… or two. Just in case you feel the same, I thought I’d share what has been giving me a little bit of a boost this summer.

I’m reading the Power of Intention by Dr. Wayne Dyer. He has the quote above hanging in his house to serve as a reminder to himself and his family that God’s got this.

This “Vacation or Trip? A Helpful Guide for Parents” article a reader sent me after I posted about our “Griswold Family Vacation Trip” made me laugh all over again!

This is one of my favorite lines from this hilarious article:

“If your final destination has a kitchen, you are not on vacation. You are on a trip. If you have to grocery shop before or during your time away, it is a trip. If you, at any time during your stay, have to load or unload a dishwasher, that is a Groundhog-Day-style trip. If there is a pack-and-play in your room, you are on a trip. If you are in a hotel room with two double beds, trippity trip trip.”

I love following Mark D. Sikes on Instagram, specifically his stories. He works on some really amazing homes, and he usually shares them on stories! Also, I used to have a white wicker swing like this one. I am desperate to find one or two for my porch! If you know where I can find one, will you let me know? I will forever be indebted to you!

I found El Arroyo’s Big Book of Signs at the Paris Texas Apparel Co. store. My husband and I laughed so hard at all the different signs in this book. And guess what I found out from readers?!?! They have an Instagram account!

This game is officially the best family game night game EVER! My husband and I haven’t laughed that hard with our kids in the longest time!

I don’t know how she does it, but Lucky Peacock Designs finds the very best home interior photos EVER! I’m sure you already follow her, but if you don’t, her account will definitely give you a boost!
