Mini-Series: Getting Dressed for the Holidays

Can y’all believe Christmas is next week?!!! Imagine Kevin’s face from Home Alone when he puts on his Dad’s aftershave, that’s me right now! Ahhhhhhhhh!

A few of you asked for some holiday outfit ideas for both casual and dressy functions. Thanks for asking! You inspired me to do a little mini-series over the next week on getting dressed for the holiday’s. Everyday, I’ll share a few tips, tricks and ideas, so be sure to check back!

I wore this outfit to a party where the dress was, “Festive Attire.” When I read “festive attire”, I think plaid, velvet, red, satin, silk, shimmer, glitter or anything that is a little bit more… festive -ha! So, I immediately thought of this plaid skirt! I decided to pair it with my favorite black turtleneck. I loved how it looked, but I felt like it needed something more. I don’t usually think to put a necklace over my turtlenecks, but I think that’s exactly why it felt more festive to me! And I really love how the black booties and sheer tights gave my preppy skirt a little bit of an update and edge!
