Last week, I attended a Holiday Blogger Brunch at the BEAUTIFUL home of fellow blogger and friend, Lyndsey Zorich.
It’s the second holiday event I’ve attended so far this month, and both times I’ve worn this exact outfit. I purchased this skirt from Anthropologie in October in anticipation of holiday events. Anthropologie is where I like to shop for fun, unique pieces, which is why when I saw this skirt online, I thought, “bingo!” Then, Anthropologie reached out to me to see if I’d like to do a sponsored post on holiday dressing! I can’t wait to show you all what I found, but first, this outfit…
Turtleneck, Ruffle Skirt, Tights (last year) this years version here and here, Booties similar
Since the skirt was such a statement piece, I decided to pair it with basic staples- black turtleneck, black tights, and black booties, and all of these staple pieces can be found at Anthropologie. This is why I love to have really good staples in my closet. I can find one unique piece and use the staples to complete the outfit instead of buying all new pieces to make up an entirely new outfit!
Since I had black on the top (turtleneck) and black on the bottom (booties), I wore sheer tights as a transition from the metallic, light and bright skirt to the black on top and bottom.
I saw these darling tops at Anthropologie, which I thought would be so festive for the holidays.
Fringe Tank, Sequined Fringe Tank, Sequined Cami
But, I almost passed them by because I don’t like to wear strapless bras, and I get cold easily. Then I had a great idea!!!
Put a plain, black turtleneck under it, or….
Turtleneck, Sequined Cami, AG jeans
…a black turtleneck with puffy sleeves, or…
Sequined Fringe Tank, Turtleneck, AG jeans
…a tight t-shirt.
Fringe Tank, AG jeans, Mock Neck Tee
In the end, I could wear it without a turtleneck…
…and just wear a jacket on top!
Same goes with this top.
Wouldn’t a black leather jacket look so good with this top? Chic, edgy, and festive! Winning!
If you’re looking for something a little dressier, how about this festive skirt?
Turtleneck, Orleans Sequined Midi Skirt
Pair it with sheer hose and black booties or heels! Do the same with this skirt…
Turtleneck, Natalia Sequined Midi Skirt
I love buying pieces instead of an entire dress sometimes. I feel like I can mix and match better and get more wear out of the pieces, but also, it’s less expensive!
Aren’t those some really fun unique, festive pieces?! I love them all. I was in the dressing room for so long that the sales associate asked me if I was ok… Hahaha! I told her I was finding too many good things! Well, and she didn’t know I was taking a whole bunch of selfies, which are harder to take than they look -ha!
Here are a few more festive pieces I found at Anthropologie:
Also, Anthropologie has really unique gifts. Here are some of my favorites:
