Anniversary Dinner

This past Wednesday, my husband and I celebrated our 9 year anniversary! I had my sister-in-law take a few pictures before we headed out to dinner, just in case anyone needed some dressy outfit inspiration.

Black skinny pants, black boots, nice shirt and you’re done! I always like to add a dinner jacket of some sort, for depth and to add a waist line, but that’s just me. If you’re looking for a dinner jacket, this one comes in black, too!

I love the gold zipper on the back of my ET Wedge Boots!

This is what my son calls a “Family Hug!!!!”. This picture makes me really happy, but let’s be honest, marriage is freaking hard. These 9 years have not been all bright and cheery. There have been hard times, like we ALL have. Don’t get me wrong, there wasn’t any catastrophic event that happened, it’s just the everyday life stuff in a marriage that’s hard. Things build up and no one is to blame. I’m sure there have been times when a family hug would not have looked like this.

I just couldn’t post these pictures and possibly leave the impression that we have this perfect, cheery family all the time. I recently saw the movie “The Butler”. It was a fantastic movie. One of the things that stood out to me in the movie was how they showed the life of a married couple (played by Oprah and Forest Whitaker). The couple goes through struggles over and over again in their life and marriage, but, in the end, they were still together in love- partners in this hard life. It was a real portrayal of a marriage and it made an impression on me.
