Because I’m such a sucker for Before and After posts, I’m throwing the best practice of starting with after pictures out the window. Instead, I’m starting with the before pictures because it’s so much more fun! Here’s a “before” picture of our master bedroom at our country place…
And here’s a picture of my husband’s grandmother’s chairs we inherited (he thought I was absolutely crazy to want them)…
Check them out now!!!…
Ever since I saw this Citrus Garden Schumacher print used as wallpaper in Pencil and Paper’s bathroom, I’ve wanted to do something with it! I wanted to give Mimi’s chairs a new life, and I thought this fabric would do just that! And can you believe the curtains are from Amazon?
I found out about these curtains from Miracle on Thirty Fourth’s Blog. The curtain rods are from Crate and Barrel! I’m so pleased with how all of this turned out! I do want to say that the curtains are not the most amazing fabric you’ve ever seen. You can tell they are inexpensive when you get really close, but when you have Schumacher chairs in front, who notices the inexpensive curtains in the background?! The roman shades were leftover from our home in Houston. I saved them, and they don’t fit the window exactly, but who’s looking? You can also find them here (without black out fabric behind).

On a side note:
I have another project I’m doing at our country place. Remember the blue room y’all helped me with? Well, the slipcovers are pretty dirty and stained. I mentioned this to you all and a reader had the genius idea to dye them! So stay posted to see how this project goes. I figure I have nothing to lose, which is a pretty good spot to be in!
I’m mixing navy blue and black fabric dye to get a darker, more rich navy color. If anyone has any advice, please comment below. I plan to dye the slipcovers in my washing machine at the end of this week! Also, do you dry slipcovers? I don’t want them to be wrinkled, but I don’t want them to shrink! Ahhhhh! Wish me luck!

I am so excited you are taking my suggestion to dye the slipcovers! Can’t wait to see how they turn out! I have washed slipcovers before. I chose a sunny day and after washing them, I laid them out on the grass until they were almost dry then put them back on the sofa. Good luck!!

Sandy!!! I’m so glad you responded! I couldn’t remember your name, and I wanted to credit for your great idea in the post! You’re a genius! I can’t wait to see how this turns out!

No need to credit me, I’m sure its not an original idea. I just can’t wait to see the results!
