This gift guide was written by my Godson, Miller Martin (@millermartin2026), and it’s for all of us who are clueless when it comes to getting gifts for the boys in our lives. Maybe I should only speak for myself, but I didn’t know about half of these things, and when I showed my son this list he was like, “oh yeah, I want that and that and that”. So thank you, Miller, you have helped at least one mom out there! Miller is a freshman in high school and loves to play basketball. Say a little prayer for him because he’s recovering from knee surgery, and he wants to get back on the basketball court as soon as possible! Without further ado, here’s what Miller wants and recommends:

Chain Necklace: James Avery

Is your son on a sports team, have a favorite saying with his friends, Bible verse, or something inspirational you think he’d like on a bracelet? This would be really fun to do if their team at the moment has a saying they chant, or if they won a championship. I want to make a bracelet for my family, and you can make your own on Amazon!

NBA 2k 2023: 2K Sports

 I know I’m not the only one who sees their boys play this game non-stop. Just make sure you buy the version that coordinates with your gaming console.

Socks: Nike

How easy is this gift?

LED Lights: Tenmiro

Just be careful where you stick your LED lights. When I peeled them off my son’s wall, it took the drywall with it.

Scooter: Hiboy

We bought another brand of scooter, and unfortunately, it broke within a year. My son loved it so much, he asked for a Hiboy scooter from his grandmother for his b-day. He’s had it for a week, and I can vouch for it. It’s great quality, keeps a charge, and is very sturdy. Yay! Hopefully, he’ll have it for many years to come.

Airpods: Apple

Well, duh. The only thing I’ll say is my son is asking for the noise cancelling ones this year, and honestly, I get it. They are pretty incredible. Sure would have been nice to have those while I was studying in college. I need complete silence. 

Mini basketball hoop for the door: Anzmtosn

My son has one of these and loves it! I hear him in his room playing all the time!

Splatterball Gun: Kyaliandi

Y’all, these splat guns are so cool! My dad got my son one for his b-day, and he loves it! He asked how we knew he wanted one! Thanks again, Miller!

Alexa: Amazon

The easiest way to play music and set an alarm all in one for their room!

Hoodie: Overtime

Overtime is a sports media company geared towards the younger generation. If your son is a sports fan, I’m pretty sure this is a no-brainer. Once again, I bought a hoodie and shorts for my sons b-day, and he has already worn both. For a boy, that’s a really good sign! How many times can I thank Miller in one post?   

Shorts: Chubbies

These shorts take my back to the 80’s, and I’m here for it! I linked to the exact shorts Miller likes because I was clueless about which ones were “cool”. 😆

How cool is the Astros neon sign or the Air Jordan neon sign?! There are a ton of these neon signs on the internet. If your son has a favorite team, this is a no-brainer! I sent the jump man to my son, and his response was “that’s so awesome!”

My son has outgrown his slippers, so he is requesting new ones. If your son wears a robe or pj’s, this is a no-brainer. I have one that does and one that doesn’t. In my mind, if you’re a robe/pj person, you’re probably a house slipper kind of person.

Pajama Pants: Vineyard Vine

My son is still wearing the pj pants I gave him last Christmas, so I’d say this was a winner! 

Bluetooth Speakers: Kanto

My son asked for speakers that he can listen to music from his phone in his room -“a speaker system for my room” to be exact. My husband swears by this brand of speakers. He is kinda a music nut, so I trust him.

 

Head phones for gaming: Corsair

I bought my son a cheap gaming headset when he was younger, and now he’s requesting a legit one that doesn’t glitch and lag when he’s playing with his friends. He claims he’ll be quieter, so he won’t wake us up anymore. Ha! Our bedroom is close to where he plays video games.  Tip: make sure the headphones are wireless and compatible with your gaming system- my son had to look up both!
