I was scrolling through Pinterest late one night (you know the late night scroll, when you need to go to bed but the phone has sucked you in -ha!), and I came across some really great all black outfits. I then decided to come up with my very own all black outfit to wear the next day! That’s when I discovered that it’s not as easy as it looks. You would think you’d just grab different black items from your closet that fit well and that would be it, but not so fast. While that is a great starting point, I noticed that all the really great all black outfits have one thing in common- they have dimension. You can achieve dimension in a few different ways. One way is by adding different textures, like waxed denim, leather, fur, silk, etc. You can also add dimension by playing with layers and adding a black leather jacket, black fur vest, black shearling vest, or a black cape. And although it’s counter intuitive, it’s important that your blacks don’t match (you can even add brown with gold accessories).
As you can see in the picture, I am using all three tricks. I’m wearing a charcoal black shirt and charcoal booties (different color blacks), I layered a silk-like vest over my shirt (layering and texture), and my jeans are shiny waxed denim (texture). Now, before you say “oh, that’s way too complicated”, just try it! The end result is so fun and chic! You can do it! And if you do, take a selfie and tag me on IG. It would make my day!

You always look great in whatever you’re wearing. Hmmm, wonder what happened to my waxed jeans.

Fun fun fun as always! Random question. What socks do you wear with your boots? I have some that are by Hue and tend to fall off my heel when I wear booties. They are more of a panty hose type material. When I wear comfy low cut socks, they show! Boo-hiss! Can you help?
