I always feel goofy wearing hats. I just do. I feel like it looks like I’m trying too hard or something. I can’t quite place my finger on it. However, I’m becoming more aware of the harmful effects of the sun, so a hat I feel comfortable in is becoming more and more essential.
A few years ago, I purchased one of those really cute panama/fedora looking hats. Here’s the problem- the curled brim was too short, so it didn’t provide sun protection. Plus, it was too tight on my head… I guess I have a big head. I literally ended up throwing it away in the airpot trash can. I was just so frustrated, because my head was throbbing from wearing a hat that was too small. Since then I’ve been on the hunt for a better option, so I had to do a post when I found this new favorite hat!!!
First, let me say it’s only $14. Yes, you read that correctly. Secondly, it fits my (apparently) large head (it’s 22″ around). Thirdly, the large brim provides full coverage from the sun. And it’s $14 -ha! Yes, it was worth repeating!
Now, if I just get over myself and wear it more. So far, I’ve worn it to the baseball fields, swim team practice and the pool. I’d say that’s pretty good for me!

I tried to purchase the hat and they must be out of stock. Bummer!! 🙁

Hi, I just put the hat in my cart with no issue. It says the s/m and m/l are in stock. Maybe try again… I’m sorry you’re having issues, I hope this helps!

I have a big head too, did you buy a s/m or m/l? ?
Carly Lee says
Girrrrrl, I ordered the m/l! I would have ordered the l/xl if they had that option -ha!

Love it!! I am going online to order it now. One questions, how did you know what size to order??
Carly Lee says
I just took a chance on the m/l. My head is 22″ around and the m/l fit. Maybe, you can measure your head. That’s a funny sentence -ha!

Girl, I am ordering this RIGHT NOW. I have a huge head and can never find a hat! Thanks so the affordable option!!

It looks really cute! I have always felt silly in a hat with my short hair. Maybe because my kids laughed at me years ago when I put on a hat. It feels like they are gonna pop off my head any minute, so I never wear them. I have also said that my head must be big, although I think it is my hair that takes up the space. I need the sun protection, so I will investigate now. Love it that the price is right. Thanks for the post!

I’m glad to know I’m not alone!

LOL! Re: big head. Mine’s freakishly large too (23”) and I can never find hats that fit. I’ll be heading over to Joe Fresh to try to try it on.

Thanks for this great find! I’ve decided this is the “summer of the hat” after getting a spot removed on my forehead. Aakk! Would love an entire post dedicated to cute caps and hats! I feel like it can go wrong so quickly;) And totally relate to your feelings of being overly dramatic or something. But here we go…! Thanks!
Carly Lee says
HERE WE GO!!! We can do this!

I want a hat I feel comfortable in for sun protection too. I’m not sure if we all have big heads or thick hair, I know its my hair that makes it harder for me to fit hats. (Maybe I’m in denial about my big head though, ha!) I’m a sporty type and I’m not sure if this style will work for me.
Carly Lee says
I get it. I’ll be on the look out for a more sporty hat for you.
