The Perfect Long Sleeve Tee For Fall

Madewell Whisper Cotton Tee

I know we ALL love our t-shirts! I mean, they are a closet staple, right? Especially t-shirts that can be worn with leggings, cropped sweaters (post here), under blazers, and with jeans. A multi-purpose t-shirt, if you will. At the beginning of every weather changing season (aka spring and fall), I try to find a few staple t-shirts for the following months. I can usually only wear my t-shirt for about 6 months because the arm pits get sweat stains (who, me?), and they get holes in various places. For the past few fall seasons, I have purchased the same long sleeve tee from BP. (see below). I’ve purchased the scoop neck and crew neck version, but last year I wasn’t as happy with the quality. The arms seemed tighter than usual, and the fabric seemed thinner. Based on the pictures below, it looks like they may have fixed these issues… Maybe.

Then my sister (@tellittoyourneighbor) and I went shopping at Madewell, and we tried on their long sleeve crew neck tee. Well, it’s no surprise that we loved it since Madewell is officially our favorite place for t-shirts during the hot months. Remember how we all fell in love with their crew neck tee and their v-neck tee? Well, they’ve done it again with their long sleeve crew neck tee.

From a stylist’s point of view, what’s really great about this shirt is that it’s sliming even if you go up in size. In fact, I don’t think you can really tell a difference! I went up one size to see if the shirt got longer, and it did. I am wearing an xxs in the pic on left and and xs in the pic on the right. I’m only telling you sizing for reference. I also love that these t-shirts are on the thicker side because they’re not see through, but they’re not bulky either!

So for now (because we all know manufacturing can change so much) this is my favorite long sleeve t-shirt! If anyone orders the BP. t-shirt and you like it, let me know.

Hi Carly! I love your blog ❤️
I’m trying to figure out what size I should order. I looked at the size chart and according to it I would be a small. You said you tried on the xxs and xs and both fit. Does that match up to the size chart for you? I’m just want to see how accurate the size chart is. Does that make sense? ?

I would say this shirt runs true to size. I like my tees to be on the more snug side that’s why I tried an xxs. I usually wear an xs. I hope this helps.
