As I said in my last post, I’m driven to be a bright spot in your inbox. I’m committed because it means something to me. I have personally relied on uplifting and happy things to get me through some hard times, and I want to do the same on here. Here’s what I’ve been finding good and positive recently:
LIFE:
Do you all follow Hoda Kotb’s Instagram? She consistently shares some of the best quotes that are relevant for what is happening in the world. I’m hooked.
Have you ever been talking to a fellow mom about a motherhood struggle, and she looks at you like you have four eyes and then says something like, “Oh, that’s interesting.” Not that this has ever happened to me… clearly hypothetical- ha! Anyway, this video made me feel better.
Comfort food usually takes hours to make but not this lasagna! Smart In The Kitchen‘s “Weeknight Lasagna” was DELICIOUS and surprisingly super EASY! It even has a gluten free option! My foodie husband loved it and so did the kids! SCORE!
Chip Gaines for President! Just kidding, but maybe not. I bet you’ll feel the same after you read this article.
STYLE:
Ummm, this black skirt. I can’t stop wearing it. I really can’t. It’s just too perfect for the transitional time between summer and fall. Oh, there she goes again in her black skirt… and again… and again.
I can’t tell the difference between these cute sandals. Can you? One’s from Nordstrom and one is from Target!
If you love the Gucci mule trend but don’t want to spend that kind of money, these mules from Target are perfect for you.
My sister wore this top in black for her 40th Birthday dinner in NYC. She looked perfect. If you ask me, this top is the perfect mix. It’s sophisticated and classic, but it’s still hip and sexy.
How adorable is this night light?! It’s so happy and colorful.

Always looking for new recipes to try for family dinners, even better when they come from a local Houston blogger. I was not familiar with Smart in the Kitchen will check out her blog. Love the Target shoes too!

Great links! Watched the empathy video on my coffee break, which then turned into watching the narcissist video. 😉 Sucked in! 😉 Thinking of Houston!
