Slides- K. Jacques for similar here
The other night, a girlfriend of mine (hi, Kayley) asked me what sandals were in style for summer. She was looking for new sandals and wanted some direction. Well, I was super excited because I immediately knew the answer! I had been watching the trend come back for awhile… Can you guess it? The slide! If you were planing on buying one new pair of sandals this summer, slides are a sure bet.
Now, there are a variety of colors and looks for slides that I love (see below), but I specifically went for white slides. Here’s why- I could just not get into the white bootie trend, so this is my way of participating in the white shoe trend. Also, I’ve always thought I could use a pair of white sandals in my summer wardrobe but could never find a pair that was my style, so I wore white sneakers instead. Well, it’s my time! I’ve worn these white slides every day since they arrived, which is really saying something. My cost per wear is going to be pennies! No, seriously! I’m an 8.5, so I ordered a 39. They fit perfectly. If sold out, see similar here.
On a side note, I always thought my feet looked a little weird in flip flops, so I’m excited slides are back. These slides are a major upgrade from my black foam wedge slides that had an elastic band across the top. Rest assured, I will not wear black baggy, slinky pants with my new slides either -ha! Tell me I’m not the only one? I may buy the Adidas navy slides for nostalgia’s sake though.

Carly what makes you decide to splurge vs save? the K Jacque’s are cute, but pricey – what makes them a better buy than the Steve Madden’s (for example) for a trendy summer shoe? I’m just curious what your thoughts & tips are on when to splurge or when to save in general.

Hi Heather, This is a great question and a great post idea. I decided to splurge because I really appreciate the K. Jacque brand. I own two other pairs of K. Jacque sandals and they are the most comfortable sandals I’ve ever owned. I’ve had one pair for three years and they still look great. I also felt like this “style” of slide was classic. There was nothing on the sandal that was going to date it. In short, comfort, quality, and a style that had staying power made me pull the splurge trigger.
