Find Your Perfect Pair of Jeans For The Fall!

The change in the weather has given me the perfect excuse to shop for cool weather clothes! As if I needed an excuse -ha! Let’s just say I’ve been shopping A LOT- specifically for the perfect pair of jeans. Not an easy task, as you know. Well, I found my perfect pair, my friend found her perfect pair, and my sister found a pair that I wish they’ll soon make a tall version of for me! So here we go!

1st pair

(I’m starting with the best!)- If I was looking for one pair of black jeans for the season (I’m not, because I still have and love these), these are the ones I’d buy. I’ve told a few friends about them after putting another friend in them. They are super comfy (it feels like you’re wearing leggings)! Oh, and they are by Madewell, so they’re great quality and a great price!

Madewell Roadtripper black denim

2nd Pair

If I was looking for a pair of high-rise bootcut jeans because I was tired of skinny jeans and looking for variety (hahaha! Can you hear my inner thoughts?), this pair is awesome…

Pilcro High-waist Bootcut Jeans– I’m thinking these would look super cute with booties and flats!

3rd Pair

If I was shorter (I’m 5′ 8″) and wanted a dressier black jean that wasn’t coated denim, I’d buy these….

7 FOR ALL MANKIND Metallic Ankle Skinny Jeans– They have a little bit of metallic to them! I’m wearing the color gunmetal, and they’re true to size. Sweater- Sèzane

And now for the coated denim:

I don’t know what it is, but I’m majorly into coated denim this season. Since it’s turned cold, I keep reaching for my favorite pair of coated denim that I’ve had for years! Then I tried on a pair of leather pants, and wooooweeee, I had the very worst case of wants! But, I was not up for splurging on leather pants. That’s when I tried on a pair of coated denim, and my friend said they looked like the leather pants!! Check them out…

4th Pair

AG Leatherette legging ankle– Now I’m doubly in on coated denim! The look of leather for less! If I was tall and wanted a pair of coated denim that was long enough and were super shiny that they almost looked like leather, I’d buy these in black and navy. Ok, so I did! Ha! I’m wearing navy in this picture.

5th Pair

If I was a bit shorter (I’m 5′ 8″) and had a fabulous booty (like my sister in this pic), I would have purchased this dark grey pair of coated denim in a millisecond. I could see these with practically any color top, and I always love what a charcoal/dark grey color bottom does for an outfit. To me, grey bottoms add interest to any outfit. I’m on the look out for a similar pair for taller people (if you know of a pair, let me know!).

Frame Coated Skinny Jean– Argh, they are already sold out at Nordstrom, but I found them at SAKS (picture on Saks site is not a good representation)!

And if I was looking to dip my toe in the coated denim trend, I’d start with my very favorite pair that I’ve had for many years! I like this pair because they’re not to shiny, so you can wear them casually and not feel weird (like to fun errands). Plus, the Paige Verdugo is always a great fit on so many people!

Hi-Did you size down on the navy coated denim? The website says to & I just wondered if that was an accurate suggestion.
    Thank you!

Hi Anya, I did not size down, but the size I buy is usually a size down. I know I need to have the jeans super tight, so they don’t bag out. I hope this makes sense. I’m basically saying I usually buy my jeans super tight, so I can’t size down. Clear as mud. Hahahaha!

It does make sense. I actually learned sizing down from you earlier this year & I do size down on AG denim, but I recently bought an AG “cord” (looks like velvet to me) and those fit tight at reg size, so why I asked about the coated. That was a long reply. 🧐 Regardless thank you for the input!

Ha! Ok, well in that case, order the size you normally do! How do you like your cords?

Ummmm Late reply! Sorry was deleting emails and saw this! I like the cords ok…that’s my honest opinion. For me I feel like they can only be worn with certain shoes…I think it is the cut at the very bottom. Because of that I tend to not grab them like I grab other black pants.

Do you want new hair growth in your eyebrows? I ha Do you want new hair growth in your eyebrows? I have a trick, and no, it’s not an expensive hair growth serum! It’s Castor Oil, so it’s all natural and inexpensive. Apparently, it’s been used for thousands of years dating back to ancient Egypt. Ok, and I use it on my eyelashes, too, but I’m doing that at my own risk. I don’t want to recommend this practice, since I don’t really know what it’s going to do to my eyesight. I know, call me crazy- it’s fine.

Thanks to my friend, Michelle for telling me about this little trick!

I attended a funeral today of a friend who died of I attended a funeral today of a friend who died of mental illness. If my friend is strong enough to stand at the podium and talk about her husband and the hope her family has in the midst of their darkest days, then I want to honor both of them by telling you about my struggle with mental illness. My friend mentioned that many of her husband’s closest friends had no idea that he’d been struggling with mental illness for 3 years, and I realized that many of you, and probably some of my closest friends don’t know how long and hard my struggle has been with mental illness. For me my mental illness wasn’t the kind where I couldn’t get out of bed or out of the house, which would make it hard to tell I was struggling. For me it looked more like battling through the day and struggling with my own self condemning thoughts and emotions - shaming myself for being happy one minute and sad the next, or for not being happy all the time, looking around at all my blessings and not feeling gratitude, which made me feel like there was something wrong with me. It was hard to get excited. On some days I walked around feeling like a scared puppy in a big bad world with my emotions right at the surface. For me, my faith is very important to me, and I knew this was not the life God had for me, so I started to pray for help and deliverance. God started to lead me to help in a whole bunch of different forms, counselors, health practitioners, friends, medicine, trauma therapy, EMDR, books, excercise, the support of family, and most importantly, Christ and His word.
For me, it was over a 10 year battle probably because I was overcoming a lot of trauma being raised by an alcoholic mom. But for you it may be longer or shorter or this isn’t something you struggle with at all (hallelujah!). If you do, your emotions and your struggle may be different. But I’m here to say, you’re loved. You are loved by God and by so many of the people around you. Don’t give up. Dig in and fight the battle that’s happening in your mind. Fight it like you would if you had cancer. #mentalhealth #mentalhealthawareness #mentalillness #mentalhealthmatters

Takes me right back to my middle school days, and I’m not sad about it! And yes, that’s what my closet looked like after trying to figure those outfits out, but it was fun! 🤷🏼‍♀️

How to get the cuffed denim look without buying a How to get the cuffed denim look without buying a new pair of jeans! You don’t need to buy a new pair of jeans to get the cuffed denim look! Just grab a pair of straight leg jeans from your closet, cuff them to be about an inch or 2 above the top of your ankle bone and use the nifty little gadget from this tutorial. Viola! Plus, the cuffed denim length makes it a heck of a lot easier to wear most of the shoes in your closet! #winning
