I’m excited to talk about this outfit! It was fun to create, and I think there are some great tips to share!
First off, I don’t usually think about putting red and green together because I think of red and green as Christmas colors. But, every time I do, I love how it turns out! Remember this red and green outfit (below)?
I don’t think I look Christmasy at all! This makes me want to put together more red and green outfits in my closet!
Secondly, I fell in love with this top on Madewell’s site. It was shown tied in the front with a bow, which was really cute on the model. But, when I tried a bow, it didn’t feel right. Then I just left it untied…
… and I loved the way it turned out! Plus, it felt more me. I often use the models/mannequins in the store or on the website as inspiration or a jumping off point, but I don’t let that keep me from making the outfit more me or more comfortable.
Thirdly, if I need to layer a jacket over a top with cute sleeves, I usually try to allow the tops fun features to show.
I single cuffed my jacket sleeves, so the cute bell sleeve of the blouse could peek through. Then I pulled the shirt tie out for fun!
It’s so fun to create! I hope y’all are having a great day! Now, go find some green and red in your closet, and send me a pic of your outfit! It will make my day!
