Shoe Repair, Worth It?

Yes! I’d say so! I thought that this was a makeover worth sharing, just in case you ever doubted your local shoe repair shop.

Here is a before and after picture of my favorite Via Spiga black flats from last fall. Truthfully, I thought I was going to have to give them away. But, I paid good money for them, so I decided to give my local shoe hospital a chance. And, boy, I ‘m so glad I did! Look how great they look!

They were able to do a suede cleaning. Who knew “suede cleaning” was possible?!?! I first became addicted to getting my shoes repaired when I wore the same black pumps everyday. I would take my favorite black work pumps to them and they would make them look brand new every time. I’ve been addicted ever since. If you have a pair of shoes that you love, but they’re on the cusp of looking really ratty, give your local shoe repair store a try. I think you’ll be happy you did!

Great idea! I have a pair of shoes and a handbag that need to make a visit to the hospital. You always have such great ideas and advice. I always mean to leave a comment and then don’t because it’s harder to do on the iPhone. So anyway, consider all your posts to have a nice comment floating around in my head. I’m sure others are in the same boat.

I haven’t had to take shoes in for repair but must remember to pick up my purses from the shoe repair shop tomorrow. I took three purses in for very minor repairs (two white scrapes removed from patent leather, about 8 – 10 stitches on one, and the strap shortened on another). The bill is $48! I am reeling!!! Does anyone else think this is highway robbery or am I cheaper than I thought I was.
