This is my last post on getting us holiday ready, and it’s a big one- the dress (I have lots of recommendations, not just this one. We won’t be twinkles- I promise :)). I started receiving requests to do a holiday dress post back in November, so I gladly agreed when Nordstrom asked me to look at their holiday dresses. Plus with Nordstrom’s free shipping and free returns, you can find your holiday dress without stepping foot in the mall or a dressing room! This picture makes me laugh… I look like I’m writing something on a chalk board -ha!
After receiving your post requests, I went on a search to find THE perfect dress for us and fell in love with this one and the shift dress silhouette. It’s perfect for this holiday season! See how you can win one at the end of the post!

What I love about classic shift dresses is that they are flattering on so many people. It’s just one straight line that slightly flares at the bottom, it doesn’t hug any of the areas we don’t want hugged, and it’s super comfortable (not too fussy). Well, apparently Cynthia Steffe is a girl (hahaha!), and she gets it. She has some of the cutest shift dresses at Nordstrom right now. See below.
I love the lace sleeves on the black one (very festive)! I tried on the navy one, and it’s darling (I almost featured it instead)! I can see the colorful one with black opaque tights and booties. I love the orange one if you’re hot natured or going on a tropical holiday vacation!
I loved the scalloped edge of this dress. It makes me feel girly, and…
…so do my big pearl earrings. I also love the small details on this dress, specifically the jeweled button on the cuff and the rounded collar. I realized that my mom had a very similar dress that she wore to a theater performance when we were little. I remember it hanging in our utility room and ogling it. I digress…
I’ll be wearing this dress to Christmas Eve service for sure and maybe a fancy party, if we get invited to one -ha!
P.S. I’m using lots of C. Style tricks in this post, and lots of the tricks are from my recent posts for getting us holiday ready! I’m using tricks from Monday’s post– specifically how I’m wearing the statement necklace trick and the black suede pumps. I’m wearing my new high pigment eye shadow for extra glam (post here), and I also like to throw on a red lip to look extra festive (post and colors here). And if you are looking for a new way to do your hair, check our my hair tutorial from last week!
