When I arrived in Round Top for a recent girl’s trip, I got out of the car to greet my family, and when I saw my cousin, all I could say was,”Wow! You look so pretty!” I backed away and saw that she was wearing a pretty new red lipstick! Secret revealed! I, of course, proceeded to borrow her magical red lipstick along with her deodorant (ha!) all weekend! See, I really do wish we could all go back to college and borrow each other’s stuff!
The magical red lipstick is Portofino Red by Laura Mercier. It’s an orange-red, which is a change from the blue-red lipstick that I normally wear.
I’ve noticed that this orange-red color is everywhere this season. Might I call it the color of the season? It’s on shoes, bags, tops, skirts, etc.! It’s everywhere, right?
When I borrowed my cousin’s magical red lipstick, I noticed that my blue-red blush didn’t look great with the orange-red of Portofino Red. So, of course, I had to remedy that with a new blush. Ha!
NARS Matte Multiple in Laos is the perfect compliment to Portofino Red. I love that it stays on all day because I love a rosy cheek. It’s kinda my thing.
I sent this picture to my cousin right after purchasing her lipstick and the coordinating blush color.
I even wear it when I workout and when I have no other makeup on. It makes me look alive! I can’t stop wearing it! My cousin got stopped on the streets of NYC because of her magical red lip. I’ve been stopped a number of times, too! Plus, lots of readers asked about my red lip in my last couple of posts. It’s that good.
