I own both the Conair wand (3/4″-1 1/4″) and the Drybar wand. I purchased the Conair wand a couple of years ago and I’ve been very happy with it. It was my introduction to the whole wand concept (post here).
But when comparing the two, the biggest and only difference if you ask me, is the look of the curl….
The Conair wand has a tighter curl…
and the Drybar wand has a looser wavier curl (wait, is that an oxymoron?)…
Basically the wands are the inverse of the other (see first picture). With the Conair wand the curl gets tighter at the end and with the Drybar wand your curl is tighter closer to your head and then get bigger at the end which lends itself to more of a wavy look. Otherwise, I find the quality, heat settings, and hold comparable. Oh, and there is a pretty big price difference -ha!
