If you live in the north, do me a favor and stop reading this post immediately so I don’t embarrass myself. I was super excited to receive these Sorel boots from my husband for Christmas (from my wishlist). Basically, I put the box in my closet and didn’t expect to touch them until our ski trip. Well, low and behold, Houston has been experiencing freezing temps, so guess what I got to wear?!?! My new Sorels! But here’s the thing (and this is when you Northerners really need to stop reading), I didn’t know how to wear these cute, ankle boots. Do I wear my little footies and have my skin showing? I think I’d get a frostbite ring around on my ankle- ha! Do I make sure my jeans are long enough to go all the way into the boot? Wait, do I even wear socks? #complicated
At this point, I had decided to return them for a Sorel boot that goes over the ankle. But just before I did, I tried them on one last time. I was already wearing my trusty old wool socks (I’ve had them since high school), and guess what?!?! They were my solution! The boots looked so cute over my bunched up socks with my skinny jeans! Boom! Yay! I’m keeping them, and I found myself a cute new trick! I can’t wait to buy all different color wool socks and have fun mixing and matching them with my outfits! (Wait, is that going overboard? Hahahahah!)
And this is when all my Northerner friends go, “Duh!!!!”.
Sizing Information: I went up half a size. They seem big when I’m wearing regular socks, but they fit well when I’m wearing thick socks.
